This 1950’s mouthblown glass art vase is spectacular!
It depicts a school of green fish swimming in flora and seaweed and overlayed with a thick layer of clear glass. This technique was created by Edward Hald in the 1930’s. It creates the appearance of underwater depth.
This particular design is featured in several collections at notable museums including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Brooklyn Museum and the Cor.
It is signed, etched/incised, on the bottom:
“Orrefors Graal Nr 123 Edward Hald”
It measures 5.5” tall x 5” and diameter.
It weighs 5 pounds 15 oz.
It is in beautiful condition with no chips, scratches on the vase. The bottom of the vase, where it is signed by the artist, has light scratches that may be part of the making of the glass.
